If you are like me, you worry about identity fraud.  I was just at a conference where there were great ideas.  1) to take yourself off the pre-approved credit card mailings, call 888-567-8688.  2) to take yourself off of carrier sort mail go to www.dmaconsumers.org and 3) to protect yourself even further, send all three credit reporting agencies a consumer statement that says:  for any credit requested under this name and social security number, please call me at 555-1212. This should significantly help you protect yourself and your children.  (Yes you can sign them up too).  I would also recommend you purchase a shredder for you home and use it.  Identity fraud is becoming a billion dollar business.  Once fraud has occurred and your identity stolen, cleaning up the mess with your credit is a long hard painful process.  Protect yourself ahead of time with these simple tips.  I actually completed these 3 items for entire family and it was easy to do.
